CHILD PROTECTION POLICY

1. Commitment

Youth Empowerment Network (YEN) is committed to ensuring the safety, protection, and well-being of children participating in our programs.


2. Scope

This policy applies to all staff, volunteers, partners, and stakeholders involved in YEN activities.


3. Principles

YEN believes that:

  • Every child has the right to safety and dignity
  • Child protection is a shared responsibility
  • Zero tolerance for abuse, exploitation, or neglect

4. Prohibited Conduct

The following actions are strictly prohibited:

  • Physical, emotional, or sexual abuse
  • Harassment or exploitation of children
  • Unauthorized photography or sharing of child data
  • Inappropriate communication with minors

5. Safe Interaction Guidelines

Personnel must:

  • Maintain professional boundaries
  • Obtain consent before photographing children
  • Ensure adult supervision during activities

6. Reporting Concerns

Any suspicion or incident of child abuse must be reported immediately to YEN management for appropriate action.


7. Confidentiality

All child protection matters will be handled with strict confidentiality.
